When it is raining and you have your windshield wipers on, turn your headlights on as well. It is a law in the state of Missouri, not an option.
Also, if you're scared to drive in the rain, please stay home instead of holding everyone else up.

I cannot stand when it's crazy dark/stormy and people don't have their lights on and drive 25 mph under the speed limit.
It amazes me that in Michigan where we get tons of snow people are incapable of handling a bit of rain.
Also, I grew up in NJ where it was a law to put on headlights in the rain, not in Michigan though.

It's the law in NY, and I still do it in MI.

Exactly! We can get good amounts of snow here as well and it doesn't really seem to phase people, but when it rains, oh god no better go 15 under with my lights off.

they dont turn their lights on in the snow either sometimes which is equally maddening.
Oh are you in a small white car that may or may not be moving? oh and you didn't even clean off your taillights before you got in?
GREAT

I don't understand why people don't. Honestly, it's as easy as the flip of a switch. And it makes you easier to see to other drivers.

People who drive around without wiping the snow off their car just boggle my mind.

It was the law in FL. Pretty sure the same applies in AL. I get super pissed because everyone drives 15 under, even in light rain! I end up passing tons of people just by going the speed limit

In NJ where I grew up even leaving some on your roof you could get ticketed.
Apparently Michigan doesn't have that standard.

It's the law in a number of states. I know IL for sure. We get pretty good compliance in NM even though it is not required. But I have seen a few really bad T-Bone accidents that would not have occurred if people had their lights on in the rain.

Also a great excuse to use my Mustang's fog lights!

I said a very similar sort of thing back in November. Back when it used to rain in Texas.

I almost rear ended a car that didn't have them on, such a nuisance.

I have rain sensing wipers that automatically turn on the bi-xenon headlamps when it rains. Even before my current car when I started of with a beater Accord I would never forget to turn headlights on when it rains or at night. Some people think they're DRL is enough in rain/snow but what they don't realize is they're not making themselves visible enough in the rear for cars behind them.

It's even a law in California! Back when it used to rain, I used to have these complaints too.. *sniffle* *tear falls from eye* *licks it up*
